The Board of Supervisors approved an ordinance Tuesday that will impose detailed building and business guidelines on wineries and developers in Temecula Valley wine country in southwest Riverside County.

The ordinance, which passed 3 to 0 with two supervisors not present, requires wineries to occupy parcels 10 acres or larger, with 75% of the land devoted to grapevines.

Temecula wines must include 75% local grapes, and wineries must have the capacity to produce 3,500 gallons annually.
