I'm sure that Albert Einstein or Thomas Dewey would puke to think that public education could have ended up in such a quantized wasteland.
Wake up, people! They don't want to educate you, they just want to give you enough training to work a cash register at WalMart.
I am very happy to see that Erwin St. Elementary did well - despite local parents' migration to higher API schools to the South (Colfax, Sherman Oaks, etc.). It did great and I hope will do even better as parents / neighbors realize that its faculty achieve results.
The lesson to me is that we need to support our local schools! We can eliminate long drives, encourage socialization in the neighborhood and boost our property values.
Thank you LA Times - of course, there are defects with the database, but I'm glad you have us talking!
Proud parent of successful LAUSD students!
