Alexander Sisro carries on with his bar mitzvah at Adat Yeshurun Valley Sephardic Synagogue. He came to the temple Thursday morning ready for the ceremony -- only to find a line of police tape. For the family, it meant calling dozens of friends and relatives, some of whom had traveled from as far away as Argentina and Mexico, to alert them that the ceremony would be postponed. Eventually, it was rescheduled for the evening. (Bob Chamberlin / Los Angeles Times)
