Sage on the Coast at Crystal Cove Promenade in Newport Beach
FRUIT FOR ALL
Chef Rich Mead is featuring locally produced seasonal fruits at his restaurant Sage on the Coast. “Everyone thinks desserts, but I like to take the flavors throughout the menu,” says Mead. Black Mission figs are the current highlight as they’re sliced with prosciutto, arugula, pine nuts and goat cheese for a tasty bruschetta or much in demand pizza. Grapefruits, blood oranges and tangerines feature in a fresh grilled scallop salad (pictured) with butter lettuce while seared duck gets a sweet side of grilled peaches.
