2 lanes of 15 Freeway closed after Cajon Pass brush fire
A brush fire burning in the Cajon Pass forced authorities to shut down two northbound lanes of the 15 Freeway during the Tuesday afternoon rush-hour commute.
The blaze had burned about seven acres near Kenwood Avenue in the San Bernardino National Forest and was threatening homes, the U.S. Forest Service said.
Traffic was baked up for miles to the 215 Freeway, officials said.
The California Highway Patrol declared a SigAlert about 5 p.m. It was unclear how long the lanes would be closed.
The fire was reported about 4:30 p.m. in an area about 12 miles north of San Bernardino. No other details were immediately available.
