At the New Orleans Arena fans celebrated when the Hornets selected Anthony Davis as the first overall pick in the NBA draft Thursday.
With the 10th pick the Hornets drafted his friend Austin Rivers.
Rivers is the son of Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers.
After being selected Davis said he has high standards for himself.
He says he knows it will be a challenge.
Davis says he will hit the gym very hard to put on weight.
Rivers said he may wear number 25 like his father.
He also said he's cocky in a good way.
Rivers says all great players in the NBA believe in themselves to do whatever it takes to find a way to win.
Rivers will likely be the point guard to play with Eric Gordon who the Hornets hope to sign to a long term extension.
