METAIRIE, LA—Jefferson Parish deputies announced an arrest Thursday in a Metairie motel murder case.
On September 28, a man named King Honore was found strangled inside a room at the La Quinta on the I-10 Service Road near Causeway Boulevard. Honore was from reserve and was staying in the motel because of Hurricane Isaac damage to his home.
Deputies say they arrested 39-year-old James Hutchinson for Honore's murder. Detectives say Hutchinson admitted that he had been in Honore's room but said he did not kill the man.
Detectives also say they have DNA evidence that links Hutchinson to the crime. He's booked with a second degree murder charge.
