FAR ROCKAWAY, N.Y. (WPIX)—New York City police have arrested a man believed to be the rapist who has targeted women in Far Rockaway.
Malcolm Johnson, 23, is accused of raping two women in the Queens neighborhood last week.
Police said the Johnson was armed with a gun when he approached a 25-year-old woman who was leaving the Beach 67th Street subway station around 3 a.m. last Tuesday. He reportedly forced the victim into an alleyway behind a church where he raped and robbed her.
In addition, Johnson is believed to have been behind an assault of a 21-year-old woman as she was walking to a bus stop within 11 blocks of the Beach 56th Street Station around 5:30 a.m. last Wednesday.
Johnson apparently took the victim to the sixth floor landing of a nearby building and raped and robbed her.
Charges against Johnson are pending.
