Stranded Carnival cruise ship Triumph
The voyage of the cruise ship Triumph was interrupted when a fire broke out Sunday morning in the ship's engine room as it cruised about 150 miles off Yucatan. The fire left the ship running on generators with limited water. Passengers used cellphones to call and text home, reporting that they were sleeping in hallways, urinating in bags and waiting hours in line for limited food.

An Instagram photo provided by a passenger of the Carnival cruise ship Triumph identifying himself as Mikemoonpie shows passengers lying on mattresses on the third deck of the ship as it is towed toward Mobile, Ala., on Wednesday. The stricken Carnival cruise ship Triumph arrived back in port late Thursday, ending a nightmarish ocean voyage for some 4,000 passengers and crew after the ship lost power over the weekend.
