Some areas would get expanded bus service, while others would see their routes eliminated under the Maryland Transit Administration's proposed overhaul of the Baltimore-area bus system. Here are some of the proposed changes:
Expanded
Fells Point-Canton: Would get a direct connection to Charles Village, Homeland and other North Baltimore neighborhoods via revamped No. 11 route.
Hospitals: Several - notably St. Agnes, Franklin Square and Bayview - would get more frequent service.
Mondawmin Mall: More buses would serve the mall and its Metro stop.
Crosstown routes: More frequent buses would mean fewer transfers.
Churches: Sunday service would be increased on many city routes.
Metro and light rail: Bus routes and schedules would be designed to link to these systems.
Routes cut or eliminated
