Rod Blagojevich trial: Round 1
The corruption trial of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich consumed the summer of 2010 and concluded on August 17. After 14 days of deliberations, the six-man, six-woman jury convicted Blagojevich on just one of the 24 felony counts he faced -- a charge that he had lied to FBI agents about his intense involvement in campaign fundraising.

Blagojevich told swarming reporters after the hearing: "This is another day in the big city. I know what the truth is when it concerns me, and I know that I've done absolutely nothing wrong. ... I'm actually looking forward to this day in court. ... I want to prove my innocence, I want to vindicate myself." |
