CHARLES TASNADI, Associated Press / No Supreme Court nomination was more contentious than that of Robert Bork, whose qualifications were enormous but whose conservative politics ignited a firestorm when he was nominated in 1987 by Ronald Reagan. The questioning was so aggressive that "bork" entered the language to mean an appointee so heavily questioned that he becomes too controversial for the appointment to pass. |
