Was the mainstream media right in waiting to report the unsubstantiated rumor that Michelle Obama once railed against "whitey" from a pulpit?

  • The decision about writing about this was not easy because of the concern about spreading the rumor. But at a certain point, it's more damaging to let a rumor gain wide currency because it stands unchallenged. Apparently that's what Obama decided. I made a similar call (along with my editors) in writing the column. As to NOT looking for the video, "Confused Guy,": Every major news organization (including this one) that I checked with made inquiries and found no video. If you have evidence, please bring it forward.

  • When anyone feeds me a line about Obama or McCain that sounds far-fetched, I check it out for myself. The most reliable rumor-busting site on the Web is Snopes: http://www.snopes.com/. Snopes has no axe to grind and is apolitical. Give it a try!

  • Face it, the "DEMOCRATIC PRESS" an extension of the DNC is going to report and publish Any and All things that push forward the "DEMOCRATIC PARTISANSHIP". Hand in hand with the DNC you got rid of HRC. It reminds me of what my Grandfather told me about 40 years ago,"Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see. The press is so biased today that we dont tend to believe anything they print or report because they will be changing it tomorrow. The press is just as power-hungry as our politicians, if not more!!!!!!

  • The real story that you won't find in the mainstream media, or here for that matter, is that Larry Johnson isn't a McCain supporter, he is a Hillary supporter.

  • Problem is it isn't just the bloggoshere that is spreading these rumors. For years Fox news has been parading fiction as fact. Recently we had the Rachel Ray Palestinian scarf and the Michelle and Barak knuckle tap. Should the press ignore the "Beer Hall Putsch" because they don't want to give too much attention to silly little boys in brown shirts.

  • I can't wait until Obama takes office and all you people...let's see media people, rock stars, actors, senators, state and federal representatives, school administrators, college administrators, CEO's , Post Master Generals, Petagon officials, private contractor's, mayors, small businesses, big businesses, and anyone who makes over $250,000 will have to start paying more money to help the rest of us who don't make near that. It's about time! You fat cats are finnally going to get yours from all the money you have made off our backs. It's time we had a president who will make things equal!

  • Why would calling your oppressors names make a person a member of the"hate-America-first club"? Do white people = America, therefore it's anti-American to call white people "whitey"?

  • The world needs a strong, reliable experienced American President to lead your country and the world in times like this. We cannot afford to have a weak american president to stand up to all the treaths. Don't be fooled by fresh, young, and pretends he can solve the all problems you have.Take this advice from us.Our current prime minister only aim is to be the prime minister.Change as he says is for the better BUT now we are Worse off. We elected the new incompetent leader who 's talent is speaking madarin, adored himself, and very good on promises and he has already broken his promises very fast.

  • The thing that bothers me is, the MSM has no problem reporting things about Mccain and Clinton even when their is not any evidence. A person name Larry Sinclair has made allegations about Obama and he will be at the National Press Club on the 18th of June. Where is the MSM on this, they will not even talk to the man. Suppose he is telling the truth.

  • Why are you talking about something you don't think should be talked about?
