Wednesday: Day in photos - Geneva

A Sotheby's employee displays the famous Lesotho I diamond during an auction preview in Geneva. The emerald-cut diamond weighing 71.73 carats was the largest to be cut from a spectacular rough diamond, 601 carats in its entirety, discovered in 1967. The Lesotho 1 diamond, appearing at auction for the first time next week, is expected to fetch $3 million to $5 million.
