Chen indicted on graft charges

Prosecutors indicted former Taiwanese President Chen Shui-bian on graft charges, a stunning blow for a man who rode to power promising to reform political culture.
Prosecutor Lin Che-hui said the former leader could be given a life sentence if convicted on all charges. Chen, 57, was released from a suburban Taipei jail on his own recognizance.
