President Robert Mugabe ruled out further power-sharing concessions, saying the opposition has one last chance to join a government “or it’s a break,” a state newspaper reported.
Mugabe and opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai will meet today for talks to implement a power-sharing agreement.
Under the accord, Mugabe would remain president, Tsvangirai would become prime minister and nearly all major Cabinet ministries would go to Mugabe’s party.
But Tsvangirai has insisted on controlling the Home Affairs Ministry, in charge of police.
Tsvangirai won the first round of elections in March, but pulled out of the runoff because of violence against his supporters.
