One of two missing U.S. soldiers found dead in Afghan river

KABUL, Afghanistan - A military diving team has found the body of an American soldier, one of two who went missing last week, in a river in western Afghanistan, NATO-led forces and the U.S. military said today.

Afghan and international forces were still searching for the other missing soldier, the U.S. military said in a statement.

The disappearance of the two paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division during a resupply mission last Wednesday triggered a search by NATO and Afghan forces in Badghis province, near the border with Turkmenistan.
