Caminata Nocturna, the Night Hike, shows what it's like to cross the border illegally
What do you think of this "tourist attraction"?
From the Los Angeles Times
I like to say that we have a pretty "nice" border compared to other countries. Try crossing N. Korea's borders.....

Seems more like a training camp for illegal immigrants.

It's absurd to contend that illegal immigrants(IA) do jobs American citizens won't do and do it for a wage that we won't accept. Without IA's businesses will have to adapt to paying better wages and/or modernizing to retain their market. This creates a higher-paying job for a citizen while increasing their standard of living.

That sounds like fun. Kind of like Disney's California Adventure, only Disney's Baja California Adventure!

"In reality, border guards seldom use their sirens or discharge their firearms."
A policy that needs to be changed.
Illegals should take Marcelo Rojas' advise and stay home to "fight to improve conditions at home. He also believes that Mexicans should be more open about addressing their country's political and social failings."
One smart Mexican!

To "former over stayed tourist",
If the rest of the world community hates the US so much why do they keep coming here? You know why and I know why, so do not give me that baloney BS.

Be careful in glorifying the search for a better life. It can be used to justify anything. When one seeks a better life, often the other has to pay. A better life is the reason why the conquistadors came to Mexico. Cortes, conquer of Mexico, Pizarro, conqueror of Peru, and others came to the Americas to escape poverty. They are from the Spanish province of Estremadura. As then and now, there is hopeless poverty in this dusty, bleak, waste land with a climate unfavorable to agriculture. The Indians of Mexico and Peru paid dearly for the conquistadors better life. Hitler wanted Lebensraum, more land for Germany and a better life.

"The Caminata reflects the assumption that poor, desperate migrants have a right to seek work in foreign lands..."
There is no "right" to cross international borders, but I believe that poor, desperate migrants will (like us all) do whatever it takes to survive. If it means crossing the border and assuming the perils of the crossing, the risks of deportation, broken families, etc., is deemed worthwhile, then it will happen.

I'm glad to see that Mexico is finally creating jobs for its citizens. Hopefully this will keep them in their country.

former 'overstayed tourist'.....You have got to be kidding. Hated? LOL Just look around my friend. Millions upon millions of people from all over the world are paying anything, doing almost anything to get to the US. Why is that? Because we are such a terrible country with terrible people who treat others inhumanly? You know the answer otherwise YOU wouldn't be here, now would you? LOL Another ungrateful immigrant...The REAL problem with this current group of immigrants.
