9 Held in Anti-Terror Sweep Ordered Released
A French court ordered the release of nine people arrested in an anti-terrorism sweep, including a leader of an exile group seeking to topple Iran’s government, judicial officials said. But the Paris appeals court said Maryam Rajavi of the Moujahedeen Khalq and one other defendant must first post bail.
Rajavi and more than 150 other group members were detained June 17. France’s counterintelligence agency, the DST, says the Moujahedeen Khalq was planning attacks on Iranian diplomatic missions in Europe and assassinations of Iranian secret agents in Europe.
