Mesa, Ariz.: Charlotte Char Keeter, beloved wife of George Bill Keeter, and mother of Kim (Dennis) Kindelsperger, Kraig (Deb) Keeter and Kendra Roehl, passed away at the age of 69, on Sept. 5, 2011, in Mesa, Arizona.
Char was born on June 1, 1942, to William Bill and Violet (Shilhanek) Dinger in Britton, S.D. She grew up on the family farm near Hecla, S.D., and graduated from Hecla High School. After graduating, she moved to Janesville, Wis., where she found employment with the telephone company. She met her husband Bill in Janesville, where they lived and raised their family.
After working for Wisconsin Bell for 27 years, she retired for medical reasons. In 2004, they moved to Arizona to benefit from a warmer climate.
Char was an avid sports fan and loved her Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Her greatest joys were her three children, nine grandchildren, and large extended family. She had a heart of gold and lived life to the fullest!
Char is preceded in death by her mother and father, mother-in-law, Dorothy, and father-in-law, George, and sister-in-law, Sandy.
She is survived by her husband; three children; nine grandchildren: Brett and Brittany Kindelsperger, Julia, Jared, Matthew and Madison Keeter, and Travis (Becca), Alicia and Justin Roehl; four brothers: Richard (Shirley), Harold (Jean), Darrel (Loraine) and Donald (Carol); four sisters: Shirley (Delwyn) Tisher, Dixie (Russell) Clark, Bonnie (Dan) Olson and Judy (Gene) Skoglund; two sisters-in-law: Cathy and Penny; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sept. 15, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Janesville, Wis.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at Castillo Nuevo Park in Mesa, Ariz., at a later date.
