All too human

Howard the Duck, shown on a Marvel Comics cover, was an ill-tempered, cigar-smoking character whose adventures satirized American life in the 1970s. All too human, he was prone to depression, and struggled to pay the rent. Gerber described him as "the living embodiment of all that is querulous, opinionated and uncool."
