Discuss "Israel, Hamas and the seduction of blind force"

From the Los Angeles Times
The aprtheid state of Israel is hammering more nail in to its coffin by attacking Palestinians. This attacks will not make the Palestinian freedom fighter to surrender. If they fail with their feeble defence and force also it will be a great victory and dignity for them to fight against a unjust state. The UN and America and EU has double standards against the war on terrorism. Infact they are the Masters of Terrorism.

Dear LA Times please do not group Israel as being the same as Hamas! Hamas is a band of terrorist!

This article picks up in the middle as most do and focuses on "power" because the writer knows that which side will be perceived the victim in the discussion, once it has been properly set up.
It's an old movie that has become disgusting to watch, and you play and integral part in keeping this dance of death going.
It seems pretty obvious why Hamas agrees to ceasefires, not for peace, for stocking and replenishing their weapons, and releasing prisoners, you are just fanning the flames.
Terror is sick and horrible thing to have to live with.

Gorenberg describes the Palestinian violations of the "cease fire" leading up to Israel's current orgy of slaughter in Gaza. He failed to note the Israeli violations that were far more severe, including numerous murders of people in Gaza during that time period.
Both sides know that Israeli violence against the Palestinians is not designed to make Israel safer, it is for internal political gain. The Palestinians know their feeble response is unlikely to succeed, but that at least gives them some sense of dignity.

Liberal globalization, free trade, rising incomes, and greater material wealth is the current Western formula for the good life. It's materialistic and expensive. Hamas is committed to political ideas and revolution and the destruction of Israel, not upgrading their sewer plants. So a sewage pond collapses and floods a palestinian neighborhood? Priceless. Ideas do have consequences.

You state that Hamas is the one breaking the ceasfire with its (firework) rocket, yet you fail miserably to stae that it is israel who has been strangling Gaza, since a democraticly elected government, a demand by the US & its stooge allies. The fact that Hamas' rockets are always, and in all cases, have been in response to israeli summary excutions, constant incursions, air & missile strikes. What is your norm of justice? might is right or true Human rights, equality, and absolute justice? With each word of encouragement to the racist, apertheid state of israel, you,re hammering more nails intoo its coffin.

what if israel was firing rockets at the LA times? what would your attitude be then?
C.E.BAXTER @ 2:19 PM PST, Dec 30, 2008
Everyone has been taken in by a media-induced delusion. There was only a one-sided cease-fire which was kep by Israel.Hamas continued to rain rockets onto Israel, while Israel still allowed food, medicine and fuel into Gaza. Doesn't anyone else see the insanity in this- "let me give you food and fuel so you can kill me faster". After a full withdrawl from Gaza, in which greenhouses and factories where left for the Gazans to build their own economy, all they did was destroy them and then cry that they are starving. For shame, all of you people, for pitying those that bring this on themselves.

Hamas has brought this destruction upon themselves. But they have done so deliberately, to garner the sympathy of bleeding hearts on blogs like this. This isn't a "380 Palestinians v. 4 Israeli" numbers game. This is about Hamas refusing to renew a truce and attacking Israel with over 100 rockets. NO OTHER COUNTRY would be expected to sit by while being attacked in that manner.

Israeli Jets and tanks turn Palestinian babies into steak tartar. Israel says that the babies were armed. U. S. accuses babies of terrorist tendencies and supports preemptive strike because when they grow up, the babies may retaliate with weapons of mass destruction, or worse yet, vote. Marvelous PR.
