Mr. Comes you seem to forget the current president had his father buy him a place in the Texas National Guard and did not finish.Cheney had other things to do. To gain control of the White House for a second term they managed to disrespect a man that had served honorably in Vietnam. More Republican hypocrisy. McCain served his country, & was a prisoner of was, that does not make him any more qualified than other men that served. Concentrate on the real issues ie: healthcare, infrastructure, jobs, the 7 trillion in debt acquired under the Republicans.

The bottom line is although we have our challenges as a country, not all of them can be blamed on George Bush. Remember that the Democratic senate has an even lower approval rating! What this country needs is someone to stand up to the special interests on both sides of the aisle and say enough to the wasteful spending and right the ship. The McCain Palin ticket is the most qualified to do so and have demonstrated tht they have fought corruption, wastful spending and those in their own party.

What people fail to realize, is the Palin factor is affecting every political race across the entire country, from the statehouse to the presidency. There are Republican state Reps, Governors, Senators, Congressman, who have been behind all summer (and much behind), until approx Palin appeared on the scene.
Lets start with the preference for Congress, a 10 point jump to Repubs, NC Gov McGrory, a 5 point jump, Rossi in WA, for the first time this summer, leads with a 5 point jump, and its happening in all 57 states.

McPalin Obiden --it's more important to figure out what America needs -- leadership, fixing of our broken and badly underfunded infrastructure, jobs, the economy, universal healthcare, better educated Americans -- among other exciting things. Instead the media and the swing voters seem mesmerized by the politics of personality. The last time the country was fixated on such personalities -- the majority felt they'd vote for the fella whom they'd have a beer with on their porches. Look what has been reaped! Too much American Idol, too little American Priorities.

Trotting out celebrities and movie stars who comment about things they know nothing about is why the campaign has turned into "who is more like me". I live in the midwest and I don't take advice from mult-millionaire movie stars.

Dennis Miller said that Palin seriously is bothering Obama, "She's inside his melon . . . he doesn't know whether to defecate or wind his watch." Priceless

I find it difficult to understand all the talk about Palin not having foreign experince. What does she need it for. McCain has got loads of it. Just like Obama is being covered by Biden in that area. I believe the dems have already lost the election by their outcry on the pick. All the talk about her have shown that the only thing they had going for them was Obama's star power which they feel threathened by Palin, who not only can match and even better it as she is also a woman who they denied the ticket. I am very happy McCain choose her because I do want him to win this election.

The media is usually the first to cry foul when a comment is taken out of context, but with Obama's lipstick gaffe they seem quite content to promote it, acting as Obama apologists For if one views videotape of Obama's speech - and doesn't cut his next comment off - it is clear that not only was his crowd of supporters egging him on in insulting Palin; but that he insulting McCain as well. He went on say "you can wrap an old fish in a newspaper and call it change, but it will still stink after 8 years...."
After 8 years? 2 Presidential terms? Perhaps Obama is beginning to see the handwriting on the wall.....
i loved this article. very funny
