terrible article. doesn't give any reasons with respect to THIS occurrence of economic turmoil. to say that we have always bounced back is no reason. the fact that so much money was invested heavily on assets that are now totally worthless, in addition to the insurance of those transactions in the form of now worthless CDS's, is frightening (we are talking 10's of TRILLIONS of dollars). there is nothing in history that could possibly equate to the forthcoming "recession" now except for the Great Depression.

It's just that those doggone Democrats are about to get in and ruin it. We could be so resilient, if we could just let the people who have ruined it this time around stay around. Maybe Johnny Mac will get in there and fire somebody.
Remember the good old days, when we were resilient during The Great Depression? The USofA bounced right out of that Republican induced bubble.
No matter how stupid our leaders are, we can recover from any boneheaded (R) disasters because we are Americans, and we're exceptional.
Stupid, but exceptional. Or exceptionally stupid if one's swallows this load of pepto.

This is a god start- it addresses facts, not buzz words and fear phrases. but it's not enough. There were things known and ignoired that led up to this, like actual fruad, (not by home buyrs, bt by insiders, and refusal to address real problems with the rating of the securitized loans, for example) )and they are still hidden in the rhetoric iof fear and blame. let's deal in truth.

Nice, but keep the partisan jabs out of an "America First" economics article, please.

This is right on. Those who preach doom in the economy are doomed to fail in their efforts to doom the economy. We are a vibrant, competitive people and this current financial downturn will not bring us down; rather, we will rise like Phoenix once again.

Good article. Should be mandatory reading for those predicting the end of the world as we know it.
