Is self-confidence overrated?
1.
This is the dumbest, most insulting op ed I have ever seen in the LAtimes. This woman is a hater of women. I hope she never becomes a teacher. How dare young or older Hillary expect to fullfill her dreams. wow, she must think she lives in America. What is Daum's next piece? Obama should be deferential towards white people?
2. Thank you for saying what I have been thinking about the Clinton campaign. I haven't read the Walter's book yet, but I did hear Hillary's speech on TV the night she just barely won Indiana and lost N. C. I just cringed as I heard her triumphant response to go on to the White House - as if she didn't see what had happened. The pundits have been saying that the President is in denial. My response to Hillary is 'Who is in denial now?' I'm not sure what she is bargaining for, but it sure looks self destructive and not good for the party or the country or for any legacy that the Clintons may have left.
3. If Megan Daum were to advice her daughter, this is how it might go: be submissive, leave decision making to men. Pick a job where men can talk a bout themselves, such as a pundit. Remember, men dislike intelligent, strong women. Chose your partners for their power, when they tire of your services, pick another bedmate who can help you to yet better paid job. Hilary Clinton might say: get the best education you can. Stand on your own; find a job that will support you and your children using your abilities. Don’t give in; try to make the society better place for all. Don’t be afraid to be the first to try and rely on yourself.
4. You are so right Meghan. Barbara is a real hero for admitting to her affairs with married men to sell books. I wish Hill would admit to her affairs with married women to sell some books. Thanks again, B.J. Clinton
5. Thank you for an exlnt view point. I agree whole heartedly. I'm 64, white woman for Obama. Hillary is just not honest enough for mee.
6. A great article which clearly points out why a woman will never become president in our country. If she is tough enough and tenacious enough to meet the challenges of the job many women such as youself will not accept her. By the way, I believe that Mrs. Clinton is the most qualifed to do the job. Too bad more women don't share my opinion.
7. I'm sure this is the first time I've even heard the word Humility used in the same sentence as Hillary!
