First and foremost - I do not like AG nor approve of some of his actions or President Bushs'. But for all those ranting about AG and the firing of U.S. attorneys - here's a little education...if you didn't know, that was perfectly legal!! President Clinton, when he took office, did EXACTLY the same thing. They serve "at the pleasure of the President" and are often dismissed for political reasons. Why did no one put up a big stink about it then? Because the media didn't make a spectacle of it and congress didn't waste its time and the American people's time with it.

Good solid article. Treating people right is just common sense. It shouldn't be national security or respect for minorities, it should be national security AND respect for minorities. Either party could do right by this issue if they would be objective about it and set themselves to it. Neither party has yet. So the question is are Democrats more likely to get good at national security, or are Republicans more likely to get good at reaching out to minorities? I lean Republican as a value voter, and hope for a McCain/Huckabee ticket. McCain, impeccable national security. Huckabee, the compassion candidate.

How dare he publish an Op-Ed on any topic other than, "How I helped politicize the U.S. Attorney General's office and why the Constitution doesn't matter". This is a man who was sitting by the old Attry. Gen.'s sickbed trying to get him to sign off on a policy that helps destroy personal liberties and due process. I am all for having divergent opinions in an Op-Ed page, but please refrain from giving valuable page space to someone, who amounts to, a public criminal who has helped destroy the neutrality of the office that he held, which is that office's greatest virtue. Shame on you LA Times!

I am sick of seeing articles like this. Dissecting the United States in to racial blocs is not good for the country. Not to mention the fact that these Latino demographics are increasing at breakneck speed due to illegal alien invasion.

We need a law legalizing many of the 12 million illegal aliens. LOL Yeah, while we are at it lets legalize, murder, rape, grand theft auto, DUI, and every other crime illegals love to commit while they throw trash in the streets, take welfare and infect communities with contagious, drug resistant diseases and parasites.

Alberto Gonzales and Attorney Yoo, are the reason America is now hated, for their legal work to permit torture for puppet president Bush. Both are anti-American, both should be in prison for treason against the citizens of the United States of America. They are the reason I work to remove Hispanic illegals from US communities (Gonzales is an anchor baby) why they cannot be trusted to make decisions that impact the rights and liberties of the American people. These two have done more damage than can be undone in 100 years in the US. They are blight, infecting America by foreigners on a daily basis.
