Let's see...someone to balance McCain. Who might be everything he is not; Attractive, easy to listen to, fresh, outside of washington, executive experience, articulate, female, consistent, grounded...Gov Palin. I would consider McCain for his military background and tough minded foreign policy alone, if he completed his missing credentials with the governess from our 49th state. Did I mention she is also easier on the eyes than McCain?

There are multiple risks that McCain takes in selecting Romney, with perhaps the two biggest being: 1. Romney, when juxtaposed with McCain on a stage, simply looks more presidential; more "executive". Picking Romney makes McCain look inept in comparison. 2. The "Mormon Factor" cannot be underestimated in terms of its ability to alienate fanatical anti-Mormon Evangelicals. They won't vote for Obama; they won't vote for a ticket with a Mormon on it; they just won't vote.

Still think there is a lot of underleing resentment by women that Hillary got bumped by a slick rookie. Also ,McCain's weakest demogarphic is with women voters. Go with a qualified woman with executive experience who is acceptable to the base. Sarah Palin, Carley Fiorina or Meg Whitman would fit the bill and also generate some much needed excitement for the McCain Campaign. Two white guys ain't gonna cut it this year.

Jindal is not going to be the pick. He looks like a nerdy schoolboy. Romney is a Mormon. I think he should pick Gov. Palin. She is pro-life, reform-minded, christian woman. She has been Governor longer than Jindal and is older. She is attractive to boot. She would expose Obama as a sexist which a good percentage of women believe he is. Her husband looks like a biblical figure maybe Apostle Paul or David. Mccain should not worry about her being experienced enough to be President. Some of our greatest Presidents have taken her route to the Presidency. Woodrow Wilson was Governor of New Jersey for only 2 years before he became President.

The ONLY people you could think of who are "alienated" by Sarah Palin is "Alaska's kleptocracy"??? Considering she's done more to clean up that state than any governor they've ever had...you're absolutely right!... ..and that's why she's got my vote! A reformer AND and ENERGY proponent! McCain could only DREAM of having such a perfect candidate! Oh...and did I mention she's a woman?

What about Michael Steele? McCain's only got 29 per cent of sex and the city female vote so Mike Tyson out there campaigning couldn't do him any harm and he might even strip off a few percentage points among the black people.

Actually, I think Jonah should add one more - Justice Janice Rogers Brown would make McCain a lock

By all means it should be Hillary. That would match two liberals against the socialist Hussein.

One more thing about Romney that makes him the right choice. He actually had the best plan to leave Iraq and that was to do it without announcing timetables to tip the enemy off...This is actually the best course of action.Timetables would tell the enemy how long they have to wait. Obama's plan is far from carved in stone although the media doesn't see it that way. I seriously doubt the average street vendor in Iraq wants the US out.
