In the eye of the beholder
1.
"Yale's response is a reasonable step to prevent pro-life activists from suicide-bombing the art exhibit." *
(* words I may or may not have actually thought in reaction to this phase of Shvarts' piece, composed as a representation of a certain kind of response such works elicit.)
2. Shvarts is incredibly naive & out of touch with reality. Her jargon-speak doesn't give her a touch of sophistication- it just enhances her youth & proves that she's "BS-ing" her way through this project. As far as her art goes, I firmly believe it's a hoax, since what she proposed doing would've landed her in a hospital (since 9 months of repeated herbal abortifacient would have poisoned her system). Also, her ideas about what the uterus is for is incredibly out of touch with reality, even for the art world. You can suggest any usage for it you want, but a viable uterus is still meant for reproduction.
3. new art = sensationalism, freakshow, circus sideshow mentality, creating another "accident" for audience to RUBBERNECK. this "art" is about ITS OWN possibilities of HYPE.
