5. As a gay Catholic I am totally supportive of the Pastor. I velieve the government is capable of spreading HIV/AIDS and in fact have done so. As to Japan Atomic bomb he is absolutely WRIGHT. We have to apologize immidiately to the Jepaneese people.
6. Obama made a risky bet joining this church to get elected in the mean streets of Chicago. Obama was wrong to give this hatemonger credibility when brought his daughters to his 'sermons'. Hate speech should not be accepted because there are mitigating circumstances. And, how scary are Wright’s followers, passionately cheering and willing to do anything to please their 'pastor' and gain their twisted version of God's glory? "Thou wast perfect in all thy ways from the day thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee." EZEKIEL 28:15
7. Ver interesting. First Obama throws Grandma under the bus now his Pastor. Does the USA need a bus thrower? USA is severely damaged in the last 8 years. We don't need baggabe from a rock star. I don't especially like the other 2 but at least they are vetted.
8. Mr. Goldberg: You are a little paranoid. Frankly, you sound more scary than the lunatic Pastor Wright. No reasonable person would or could disown Pastor Wright based on the snippets that made the UTube rounds. So to expect Obama to have disowned the Pastor is to state your own prejudices. When the Pastor made remarks at the NPC that amplified some of the snippets, there was clear and convincing evidence to repudiate his words as well as to disown him. That is what Obama did. He is to be commended. If we had used this senisble approach, we would not be at war in Iraq based on snippets of evidence.
9. More important than any of the political impact is the key bit of reality that's on display here for anyone who's able to see it. People like Jeremiah Wright are the #1 thing keeping black people down in America today. The spread of gang culture in the black community is a direct result of black separatist politics. The U.S. government didn't put crack in the inner city, Mr. Wright. You did.
10. Well, I'm all for letting Wright speak his heart on any subject on earth, but I do hope it's clear to folks where they're headed when they claim that "he's on to something" with his chickens-home-to-roost theology. If you can agree with Wright there, then you must either agree or else be silent when others passionately claim that some earthquake, flood, market crash, whatever, must also be God's judgement. It's wholly hypocritical to lambast right-wing religious types for vocally interpreting the "will of God", and then embrace the same behaviour as long as it's coming from the left, or from whatever section you feel comfortable with.
