So now Bush should go easy on KSM to exploit an "ideological conflict" among the terrorists. Give him the OJ treatment and a forum for putting the US on trial. Why stop there Tim? Let's free him on some technicality and give him a teaching position like Bill Ayers got? Thank goodness General Patreus is in charge, not you. Guys like you can't deal with a used car salesman, let alone a terrorist.

What we should do is release everyone held prisoner and turn them over to the international court in the Hague to be given a trial that is fair. After over 5 years of being held in captivity, being tortured all the while, the US has lost the right to try these men. I only advocate the world court so as not to release men guilty of terrorism. If anyone is found to be completely innocent of any charges i.e. turned over by bounty hunters to claim a financial gain from the US while never having any involvement in any terrorist group, the US should be required to apologize and pay reparations to these prisoners.

The Military Tribunals trying these scum of the earth, is NOT a farce, just because you would prefer some US Civilian judge and jury trying them, as if their crimes could be dealt with by domestic courts. THAT would be the farce.
I'm sorry that the military and CIA operaives who apprehended them didn't just shoot them on the spot. In an earlier day and time 'justice' would be swift. Now we hand wring over the 'rights' of international criminals who will and do massacre Americans inside the US and oit, until we can't bring justice for anyone or closure for anyone.

The Mossad (Israel's CIA) was probably the mastermind of the attacks. The Dancing Israelis were seen videotaping and celebrating while the first tower was hit. (Mossad agents). One of them went on an Israeli television talk show and said he was there to document the event. ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE? Google the Israeli Art students, Zim American Israeli company and Odigo Systems. An Israeli company, Systems Planning Corporation makes equipment to take over a plane with remote control. Former military pilots claim the maneuvers of the hijacked planes could simply not have been done by the very incompetent hijacker pilots.

Rutten's disdain for the current administration adversely impacts his judgment. Khalid and his cronies would love to turn their trial into a media frenzy. A military tribunal is the correct forum for these jihadists, one that will dispense justice without the publicity these murderers seek. What is the sense of criticizing Bush for not letting their lawyers spend more time with them - when they have repudiated any lawyers but themselves? Also, recognize that the big break cited, Imam Sharif's turn-about, occurred only when he was subjected to Egyptian prison treatment.

We are supposed to be "the good guys". The American's are the ones with the freedom and justice for all. If we can't live up to our own values, how can we go to war and force those values and freedoms on others?
Oxymoron:
Military Intelligence = Ignorance
Military Justice = Farce
American Freedom = War

I see two types of admissions of guilt obtained under torture: verifiable information and confession. In the former case, someone like Khalid Shaikh Mohammed could have given out unique information that could be used to verify that he was in fact guilty. His knowledge of the information might be construed as substantiating his guilt. Blanket statements of guilt, obtained under torture don't even deserve to be quoted in the press. I would guess KSM remains an intelligence asset; Id prefer to see him divulge more information during a life sentence without torture..

We should have killed them right away and quietly, so as not to get word out to the other extremists. The Bush people sure messed this one up.
