I think Mr. Pickens is doing the right thing to get AMERICA off FOREIGN oil and dependt on our own resources i`m all for wind power it`s beter for the earth and envierment. You go Mr. PICKENS OSU#1

Love the Picken's Plan! The big driver is economics and that's something every American can get behind. We can't keep sending $700B overseas each year. Wind is the most mature technology that can make an immediate impact. I also like Nuclear, but that's a much more difficult issue due to the disposal of waste for long periods of time and Reid's reluctance to put it in Yucca mountain. Global Warming is real and is an issue, but really for me its about economics. If we keep send money overseas we will eventually loose our economic prowress. Please don't let that happen, share the Pickens Plan with everyone you know. pickensplan.com

Yes, the "Oil Lobby" is really doing a great job of stopping anything to reduce oil dependency. They have bought and/or bribed all the politicians from top to bottom to keep the profits intact.

Thanks to Pickens for his enthusiasm and
support for wind; but, persons like this need to study the specifics of how
energymarkets are regulated (and/or distorted)by federal and state restrictions.
Let us look at the 3 components of electricity economics: (a) grid management and delivery,(b) transmission,
(c)generation. Under federal law,
the states "may" but are nor mandated
to allow competition in each of the
components.

We "aren't there yet" with electric cars? Huh? Electric vehcles have been aroung sinve the -30's. My postman drove one in the "70's.
Hey, T-Bone, I've read nary a word about the government working with the wind companies already in existence in California, Texas and elsewhere. The expertise, track record, etc. is already there. How about a wind co-operative that we (taxpayers) all own. It sounds as if your plan is all about the "big boys" creating yet another sparsely regulated monoploy, to reap profits from the consumer and have business as usual.? You've made your billions- how about an equitable plan for all for once.

Pickens is a straight shooter, doesn't mince words. But, most importantly, he is a doer. A successful doer. Washington DC is full of talkers. We elect the best talkers. I've heard enough from the talkers.

I like this idea and think this will work. I think that if we could get doing this it would work, but we need to act quick and not sleep. I am concerned about environmental impact, but have enjoyed seeing the wind turbines in wyoming.'
Do birds get whipped by these things though.
It would be good if we could develop some independence here.
In the future are we going to let others twist our arms behind our backs. Or do we have a choice.

Only thing I am sorry is that I am not 20 any more. GO FOR IT. That is the future and the security of America. This Nation has ended two wars and helped their own enemies. The pay back we see it every day. Lets go for it, and pay back !

On today issue:
T. Boone Pickens Plan.
How much percent of energy come from Sunlight, Wind, and Ocean Waves on our Earth? That energy can help todays world to reduce global warming, and air pollution. Because of todays world, we use large amounts of burned oil + gas and coalmines for economic expansion in to the world? If we have all this energy coming from the sun, wind, and ocean waves, then why cant we use that to our advantage?
