Who the heck is Ellen O'Day? How about Warren buffet's fable "Squanderville: --which was meant to show that a society cannot borrow on its grandchildren's earnings indefinitely.
Warren Buffet is clearly such a left winger.
But you don't care --do you? You got your tax cuts. What happens to your children or grandchildren is of no concern --after all, you got yours.

Professors are also educated and want to educate others. When a population is taken over (through invasion or coup d'état), they usually kill the professors first - can't have anyone thinking or questioning, now, can they?
Wonder why Republicans hate the academics so much . .

The Four Horsemen of the Economic Apocalypse, Globalization, Deregulation, Open Borders, and Free Trade represent the business practices that the robber barons used to ruin this country. American capitalism is no longer about market innovation, now it is about political manipulation. Unlike the market capitalists who succeed financially by producing new, better, or cheaper products, political capitalists use campaign contributions to manipulate the system to their advantage. For example, they influence politicians to enact free trade agreements, increase farm subsidies, and give amnesty to illegal immigrants.

Watery eyed liberals disgust me. I guess this is all Bush's fault right? This credit crisis scenario began in Clinton's tenure. "Denial is not just a river in Egypt." What a wit. Maybe the CIA is behind this. or space aliens. or even worse, Michael Moore.

Sorry, prof, but this economic tangle was the result of government action. You know darn well that affirmative action lending laws were what propelled this banking crisis. That junk mortgage is poisoning the system. And will continue to do so until it is completely flushed out of the system. And there is NOTHING government can do until it moves through to its god-awful conclusion. Any article that pretends to address this crisis while refusing to look squarely at the government's role is blatantly dishonest. Who are you to teach anyone?

The past few weeks makes one especially happy the Reepub plan to privatize Social Security was defeated.

For me the warning sign in the article was at the end.
The guy is a visiting professor at NYU. 98% of all academics are left wing, hate the Republicans, think anything conservative is bad and simply are not able to be objective regarding strengths and weaknesses of left and right.
Increasingly I understand Stalin's famous saying " useful idiots".

Fear is a healthy response to reality. When the government 'fixes' the debt crisis and sees the Dow drop 1500 points (since the vote was taken) there is something to be afraid of. Positive thinking and 'speak no evil' dictums are not going to help us now.
