  • When we asked our guest celeb speaker to make a donation to our cause (as everyone in the room was required to do to attend)--she acted like she did not hear a thing-- and that was so tacky. Would a $500 gift or whatever made it impossible for her to pay her Malibu home mortgage --I don't think so...yet, that money would have helped a lot of vulnerable people, and made her look like a true "star" regardless if she donates to her own personal charities.

  • Whats really cheesy is the relatively small amounts.... Does Bill Cosby really need 5 grand? If it was 100k I could see where it would be hard to pass up...but shaking down the Bnai Brith for a lousy 500 bucks... ewww

  • nice article. You should try writing comedy. but seriously... well written but will celebs stop taking the money?

  • Famous actors, politicians, writers, etc. Who appear at charity events and get paid for it is quite perplexing. Are they not already well established financially? I can understand the Charity paying for their Hotel, food & Transportaion expenses. To give back is a gift. Possibly these famous people are doing this to support their Agents?
