As an Alaskan of 24 years, we were ahead of these issues long before all of you were. The library censorship was on the news! I don't care how much the pundits for the repubs want to refraime it, it was news! Also, bridge to nowhere! I also don't care about her kid, her pregnancy her husband or any of her personal dysfunctions. What I do care about it whether she is right for the country! And it scares the hell out of me! Why not invite the most narrow and ultra conservative person around to judge your moral conduct! That is what you will be facing.

The media should not focus on her family matter. At age 17, Bristol Palin started a family by having a baby. At 17, Obama SMOKE POT (base on his book). What is the worst of two EVILs?
CalPolyBear @ 3:56 PM PDT, Sep 6, 2008
I agree with the article.

I really think the issue here is do we want a VP ( a heartbeat away from being Pres.) with such radical extreme views that most of us believe would take away our rights to a SAFE, LEGAL medical procedure? Do we want to go back to the DARK AGES & allow someone to control our most private decisions? My answer is NO.

I sense that the selection of Sarah Palin by the McCain campaign is a cleverly-set trap for the Democrats and the rest of the country. She is no more than a "straw (wo)man" intended to distract our attention. If McCain's people can keep the nation focused on Palin's extremist views for the next 60 days, it will have succeded in sheltering McCain from having to provide specific answers to how he will deal with a collapsing economy, a ruinous deficit, and an over-extended and weakened military. For the sake of this country, we should allI pray that the right wing will not succeed in this bait-and-switch game.

Can you tell me why Palin's husband will not hold his child like he loves it? Why would a mature dad hand his child over to another child to hold for a photo op? I hate to mention it, but it does beg investigating, is it their child? I tried to pass off this suggestion, but the more I see him on TV not holding that child it really makes me sick!!!! Is this part of their religious view?
Gene @ 8:49 PM PDT, Sep 5, 2008
What are Palin's view towards Catholics? Is her view the same as John Hagee?
Gene @ 8:38 PM PDT, Sep 5, 2008
The overarching issue concerning Gov. Palin is the ability to lead the country in case something happens to McCain. That would be the most frightening scenario we can envision about a McCain-Palin Administration. It's also about character. What about a couple of personnel matters concerning her ex-brother-in-law and the town librarian? She appears to be a very vindictive person when crossed. Remember Nixon? We live in a very tough and cruel world and her ability to make the right decisions is sorely lacking especially when one examines her background closely. I'm not a religious person, but God help us all. Amen!

Right on, Mr. Rutten:
Republicans want to ensure that their freedom to choose becomes law while denying Americans the freedom to choose according to their own beliefs. The Republicans do a great job of covering up their fascist stances on government by cloaking themselves as the true Patriots. It is ironic and troubling that the Democrats fail to fight back against this. If the Dems don't, the election is lost. And once again, the Dems will have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
