I'm a 19 year old African-American male and I'm voting no on prop. 8. I think it's cruel to vote yes after the fact that it's legal for gays and lesbians can get married.

Chris, your argument disgusts me. You are suggesting the removal of an entire demographic. These are human beings we're talking about here. You don't like a group, so you think they should be wiped off the face of the planet. If that's your reasoning, I suggest you get help.

I am church going Catholic woman and am totally pro-gay marriage. Love is a beautiful thing and the church promotes love above all else.

One thing that whitey is gonna learn is that the black man is not down for every kooky as**ed thing that the white boy comes up with. Homosexuality is not the same as race and is greeted the same by all cultures pretty much the same way. Stupid gay a***ed white people act like there are no gay racists when the fact is that for a gay white racist, the black man is his greatest prize... it's all about power...

African Americans who support Proposition 8 may conveniently forget gays are the new second-class citizens.
A cynic might even assert that gays represent a group lower on the caste system/totem pole than Blacks. Since many AA's are also Christian, it's easy to note they tend to believe what they are told and accept the indoctrination upon which their religion depends.
If everyone isn't equal, then nobody is. Who gets to decide who gets to be equal and who doesn't? Inalienable means no discussion.
Don't Tread On Me.

How ironic that the proponents of Prop. 8 wanted to challenged (appeal) the Jerry Brown's wording of the initiative because it was "too prejudicial," and that it didn't reflect "impartiality and fairness." Are you F'ing kidding me?! These people are trying to claim PREJUDICE??? Prop. 8 supporters--not only are you all shameless and foolish, but you're going to lose on Nov. 4th too.

Who are these religious idiots that know better than I about love or commitments? Who are they to tell me that I can't have "special" feelings for someone of the same sex? Why stop there, go ahead and regulate whom or what I can have relationships with based on age or nationality. This is pure homophobia. Imagine the outrage if the marriage between an Austrian and a Naturalized American Citizen had to have balloted approval. We are permissime of your religious beliefs. Please leave us alone.

Best way to solve the gay problem. Treat them like unwanted kittens:
Gays, sack, car, bridge, river, toss.

I have heard the same tired arguements against gay marraige that I heard when inter-racial couples were fighting for the right to marry 40+ years ago. Hopefully people will realize that there could be a proposed constitutional amendment to reinstate that type of discrimination. Imagine if that was put to a vote. All it would need is 50.1%, and it's "the will of the people" that made that rule.
Discrimination, whether voted in or legislated in, is wrong, period. If two folks love each other enough to commit and marry, let them. Who really is affected by what goes on behind someone else's closed doors?

Gays and gay supporters need to look up the definition of phobia - just because a person disagrees with the homosexual lifestyle, same sex attraction, and gay marriage does NOT mean they are afraid of gay people. Why can't people agree to disagree - without demonizing the opposition? Why do I have to see things your way? Why am I being forced to accept the homosexual lifestyle? I disagree with judicial activism, and that's what the California Supreme Court practiced when it overturned the state's ban on gay marriage.
