  • Let them fail. The ramifications will be felt far and wide, and it's about time. If their precious empires were so important to the American economy, then everyone concerned should have taken better care to protect and preserve them. If something is important you take care of it. Now they have driven themselves into the ground, and they want ordinary hard working Americans to pay their way out. Ooohhhh but the job losses they'll cry...they should have been better stewards. These companies have already died.

  • Sorry, I have no sympathy for America's 'big 3'. Every time I need to buy a car, I ALWAYS try to buy American first... I give the big 3 every opportunity, but unfortunately by the time I'm ready to put my money down, after reviewing resale value, reliability, safety, etc., most of the time I'm compelled to buy foreign. Sorry, but I truly feel that bankruptcy is the best option, and that upper management needs to get the boot. My heart only goes out to the workers.

  • A long time ago when I was in school, I complained to my parents that my teacher didn't give me an 'A'. The response I got back was the teacher doesn't give out 'A's', you have to earn your 'A'... What a concept!!

  • The 3 need money, but they do not need this much money, we should be supporting the American Companies, and restore the American Econmy. Why would we not support our own Econmy?...

  • NO BAIL OUT!!! The Big 3 need to submit chapter 11 papers, renegotiate the union contracts, and return with a better product than the Japanese. Bailing them out only enables their poor judgement in car concept, quality, and overall competition in the market. LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE OBAMA!!! NO BAIL OUT!!!

  • Auto executives, and management from any other failing corporation, deserve no more than $75,000 per year in total compensation rather than the millions they insist upon. Even that compensation is generous; those of us who own our businesses receive no compensation for failure and pay our debts from personal savings. Perhaps an even more equitable scenario would be to put the greedy, arrogant, elitists responsible for failure to work on their own assembly lines and replace them with the most intelligent, pragmatic, and gifted from their rank and file. No, it would never happen. But it should.

  • Dick Shelby is leading the charge against the bailout, because Alabama is the #1 non-Union auto producer and killing the Big Three he helps his boys. He doesn't give a hoot in hell about what's good for the country all he cares about is protecting his donors in the Heart of Dixie. What a sleaze. The GOP has been trying to break the UAW since 1936 and it looks like they are willing to hurt the entire country to do it. What I have seen this morning out of Shelby is simply amazing. What a scum. Here's a link about Alabama autos: http://www.aama.to/index.asp

  • The Fran(tast)ic Four have all been given a Fantasy T-Wearer award this week - with an extra special bumper sticker award to boot. http://blog.cafepress.com/?p=2224 Wonder if the Platinum Parachuter will put his jet on the auction block sooner rather than later; Peer pressure’s a bear. At the very least he should be jetpooling.
