My wife and I have to delay our retirement indefinitely. Our investments have tanked and our home value has declined by a third. Anyone thinks my vote is going to be based on this trash is nuts.

The editorial's implied linking of Ayers with Obama contributes to the smear campaign presently taking place. It appears that it was coordinated with McCain.

Ayers is a man that most every Americian would avoid driving down his street. I he idea of walking into his house and greeting him sickens me.

A current endorser of John McCain is Mrs. L. Annenberg of the same Annenbergs whose foundation Ayers and Obama served on many years ago. SO, if Mrs. Annenberg associated with Bill Ayers, and then she with John McCain, well - what IS the politically correct separation from terrorists, anyway?
K. A. Worth @ 10:04 PM PDT, Oct 8, 2008
Does anyone care that John McCain was on the board of the US Council for World Freedom? That was a group tied to former Nazi collaborators and Cental-American death squads. With McCain on that board was the founder of the Pioneer Fund (a white-supremacist group) & J. Parker, a member of the aparteid gov't of S Africa.
And what of the Aug 1993 hate-group meeting McCain attended in Oregon? He was forewarned not to go but did anyway. There he listened w/out comment to a woman who defended another woman who had bombed a women's clinic-the woman later became a delegate of McCain's. So, his delegate condoned domestic terrorism-does McCain?

What can we expect in the future from this warm, down home, folksy, illiterate woman if she succumbs to a PMS attack when dealing with foreign powers? A woman still in childbearing years has no business leading a country and that's what is possible given McCain's age and failing mental capacities. Will she gush out her points in a high level meeting and just beam and wait for everyone else to be as delighted with her statements as she obviously is? Let's get real here-the Republicans are desperate and this woman has absolutely no class to represent the USA.

The connection is this, Ayers and Mr Obama served as directors for a number of years on two commissions. They're neighbors and Mr. Obama's political carreer was launcehed from Ayers living room. The asertion that Ayers and Mr. Obama are good friends is a plausible statment. By his own admission Ayers is still a Marxist. Mr. McCain is not my first choice for President but in light of Mr. Obama'as history and friendships, Mr. McCain is the only choice.

In security related jobs in the private sector or the government, people are required to get clearances- confidental, secret, top secret etc. In order to get these you have a background check- associating with a terrorist who has made threats, even once, against America will disqualify you. Obama's connection with Ayers (and other radicals) would immediatly disqualify him from any clearance. It is disgraceful that a man seeking to be Commander in Chief will not even be able to enter the Pentagon! Obama's mentors are all radical socialists, as were his parents and he shouldn't even be allowed to visit the White House.

Obama is all talk and no real substance, repeating what his handlers prompt him to. Look how many times in both debates he has said, "Senator McCain is absolutely right." His connections with so many radicals make him a very dangerous person to place in our highest leadership office. No one is resurrecting the 60's here; but it would be wise to examine closely those who have obviously influenced him (Obama) before giving the keys to the kingdom. The man has hidden agendas. HE IS DANGEROUS, don't be naive and fooled by his smooth speaking style, LOOK at his past associations and self admitted motivations.

I venture once in a while to look at the LA Times and reading this weak and stupid editorial reminds me of why I dropped the LA Times. Did the Editorial board forget that Obama was eight when he fleetingly contacted Ayers. This country is falling into an economic hole with Asia and Europe and Palin and McCain are trying in desperation to change the subject matter away from all the associations that brought about this economic downfall connected to McCain 20 year history in the Congress.
