  • You can secede and that way your state would no longer send any money to Washington, D.C., and can instead keep it all for yourself.

  • Your Article is simply ridiculous. The solution is higher taxes and cutting, and that is exactly what Arnold is trying to do knucklehead. The assembly and senate are stockpiled by democrats controlled by state employee unions. That is a simple fact, and they control the outcome regardless of a democrat or republican governor. If I was Arnold, I would simply say...Federal Government...HERE...because you know what...if we keep Borrowing like this current budget proposes...that will happen anyway whether we want it or not....Bankrupcy of the state if a reality and it is close. I just hope I can move my family out before it happens.

  • Childish? The issue is stop spending period and the liberals don't get it. It's not about who started it, it is about who can control and fix it. The libs want business as usual and spend, spend, spend. The responcible republicans have drawn a line in the sand and I pray they don't give in. If this is taken to the voters, the libs will lose. It's time ofr our state to get a reality check!

  • End all welfare programs and throw out all the illegals and their kids, and there won't be a budget deficit any more.

  • Illegal immigration cost California about $10.5 billion a year, plus another $7.7 billion to school the ninos of illegal aliens. Gee, there's a start. It's a damn shame at what's happened to this state because of Political Correctness.

  • If Californians had not been so dazzled by this actor (he was no Ronnie Regan). Tom McClintock would have been our governor. Do you think the state of California would have been in this mess? Think again. Tom McClintock would have sent all illegal aliens out the door. The citizens would have had their state back. The "Pass Our Budget Act" SOUNDS GOOD! LISTEN TO THE L.A. TIMES A NEWSPAPER THAT CAN'T GET IT'S ACT TOGETHER AND MAKE MATTERS WORSE.

  • Here's my deal: I've had it with Cali taxes and absurd regulations and workers' comp costs. If my taxes are raised again, I will finally move my business to Carson City, NV and the California Taxocrats will go from getting a huge chunk of my income (and my six employees' incomes) to getting NOTHING from me and also getting to pay unemployment to whichever of my current employees are unwilling to relocate to the Carson City area with me.

  • The two flaws with this plan is that it gives too much power to anyone who is willing to risk losing his job and the state could still find itself with no budget, no elected officials and the added espense of a special election. A better alternative would be to require that if a new budget has not been approved by June 15 the previous year's budget will be adoped as the budget for the next year AS IT WAS ORIGINALY APPROVED WITH NO ADJUSTEMTS FOR INFLATION.
