Bush is responsible for the flooding of New Orleans:
February 2001
Bush proposed half of what was necessary for the critical Southeast Louisiana Flood Control Project (SELA). Bush did this to offset the tax break he gave to the top 1% of rich Americans.
February 2002
Bush provided $5 million for upgrading the levees in New Orleans—one fifth of what was needed.
February 2004
The Army Corps of Engineers asked for $27 million for levee upgrades around Lake Pontchartrain—but Bush cut that to $3.9 million. Repair work on the levees around Lake Pontchartrain & the Industrial Canal, the ones that failed, stopped due to lack of funds.

This president is living in the state of denial. He has never taken responsibility for his actions and he never will. What shocks me are the people who think he was a great president. How blind to reality can you be?

The Times offering Bush even this harsh, left-handed compliment is far too much. Bush was a total and complete disaster in every single category, who literally brought America to its knees. He is a disgrace, and a tragedy that it will take generations to repair. Thank God he is gone soon.

I'm glad that Obama has indicated the desire to not pursue legal options and investigations against Bush and members of his administration. It is time for us to spend our time, effort, and energy on moving America forward again. Let's finally put the "Bush Years" behind us and focus on energy policy, rebuilding our economy, and expanding peace around the world. www.onedollarforpeace.com

BUSH JR. IS THE WORST PRESIDENT IN AMERICAN HISTORY. YOU THAT VOTED FOR BUSH JR., THANKS FOR A DAMAGED EIGHT YEARS TO OUR COUNTRY. THE HISTORY BOOK WILL TELL THE TRUTH BY GORGE. "W" MEANS WORTHLESS.

I must agree with harvey. GW has been a good President. Sure he made some mistakes, but who has'nt? I hope Obama is successful. For ALL our sakes.

I assume that, per newly issued CIA directive, the White House press corps was attending in their socks. Otherwise, I would have expected a barrage of shoes to comment on Bush's final spin, generating the frat boy's "Ultimate Exit".

All I have to say about the last 8 years is....7 minutes. Yes, our (I really hate saying that since I didn't vote for him and disliked him more than his father) President just sat there for SEVEN MINUTES after he was notified we were under attack. I don't care what "excuses" any of you give. The reality is that there was no excuse. I bet if Laura or the boozer twins...hell even the dog...were killed he wouldn't have sat there reading "My Pet Goat" for SEVEN MINUTES. If anyone supported him after that, they were even bigger fools than he was..and still is.

And given that no one in the Bush administration was every held accountable for the countless mistakes made on and before 9/11, all the ignored warnings of specific and credible foreign intelligence provided to Bush about 9/11 (with nothing done), and the glaring discrepancies and unanswered questions regarding the official conspiracy story of 9/11, it's enough to make one wonder if they planned and executed it all themselves?
