Is it really surprising that the court is reluctant to take up the real important issues of the day? Remember it is an election year. It does not behoove the C.J. to get caught up in a debate that could cause a liberal A.J. to be appointed to the bench as a opposed to a conservative A.J. as it is conceivable that at least one and possibily two new A.J.s will be appointed to the bench.
