Obama won't even help his own Auntie. Also during the election the issue of illegal aliens didnt even make the top 5. All this means bad news for illegals.

Illegal immigrants are firmly entrenched in many middle class jobs like construction where jobs are exceedingly difficult to find. In rural America, the meat packing jobs will become more desirable. Obamas only option is to increase enforcement. He cant have it both ways. Either he lying when he says that jobs for middle class Americans are his top priority or he will step-up factory raids and continue building the fence. I drove by the local Home Depot and there were Americans standing, looking for work. Somebody should remind the Time staff, that there is no decency in economic competition. The last depression proved that.

As President, Barack Obama lead our nation. We need to fix our immigration problems, not by deporting 12 million workers, but create a road to legal status. It will be good for our economy and it is the right and moral thing to do.

Obama doesn't have to do anything for the latinos. he does however must keep his promises for Americans! Why does every article in today's opinion section have to do with Latinos? This isn't a hispanic country. The LAtino Times needs to change. Stop kowtowing.

what about the legal immigrants who have played by the rules and followed all the laws but are stuck in the backlogs for years due to the inefficient USCIS.... Want to fix immigration....start with the legal one first...

All illegal immigrants MUST be deported!!! They do the following: - steal our jobs - depress wages - have anchor babies - steal our identities - steal healthcare - steal welfare / wic - steal education benefits - overburden our schools - increase crime - don't assimilate / don't speak English - send money out of the country - change our culture Illegal immigration is not fair to immigrants that use the legal process!!!

We Latinos and African Americans chose Obama for the change he promised and now WE expect the changes to become realistic.
