  • This article does not really address the fact that all of mcCain's talk is just that, talk that cannot be followed. It is clever and calculating speach-writing just to persuade shallow minds and not knowledge-seeking minds. It is sad! Read Frank Rich's article in September 7th of The Sunday New York Times and you will find out that he is an impetuous person who did not research his choice of a running mate and then lied about the process. The times staff investigated the matter thoroughly. A dishonest candidate who lies and smears and believes that the end justifies the means.

  • Ha ha-only the Americans (and yes I am an American) could vote an old man in as president simply because he is a war hero and the only thing he can say over and over again is 'Americans are great people' (doesn't take much to get the American vote does it). His actions from that time ARE respectable but how does that automatically make him an ideal presidential candidate. If he wins-we'll be an ever bigger laughing stock to the world then we ALREADY are.

  • Hey I did VOT for Hillary - NO DOUBTS... McCain as a Maverick has time after time chosen and respected women all his life. Do your research, McCain is no fried to womens issues, neither is palin. McCain has a ZERO rating on womens issues from NARAL. Here's the facts... http://www.prochoiceamerica.org/assets/files/mccain_fact_sheet.pdf

  • Oh, you mean the 2000 John McCain - he sold his soul, principles, integrity and character to the far right. All that's left is an empty suit. He's a tool for the far right, the maverick lives no more.

  • What makes you think Obama's change will be for the better? Change isn't always good, especially change from a Republican to a Democrat. How will his change really affect you? There is only so much a President can do. Most of the promises All candidates make they can't keep (not because they don't want to), but because they have no real power to change anything, it takes a village to bring any real change. I would like to see change in all the unnecessary spending, something that is foreign to most Democrats. STOP your whining and change your own lives and stop putting the government in charge of your life.

  • Peter, where did you get your information, sounds more like something you heard without any real knowledge. McCain is not a traitor, he is a hero.

  • McCain did propaganda for the viet communists and that is not someone we need as commander in chief. Jane Fonda at least did not give military secrets to the vietcom. Our service people deserve better than this traitor.

  • Well, it wasn't a terrible speech, but the pivot in message was quite startling. As I state here: Nice Speech John I'm struggling to see how the Republican party is going to be the party of change now.

  • McCain, unlike Obama did address issues in his speech. What speeches were some of you listening to? Obama didn't address anything! By the way, Obama made 21 negative comments about McCain, and didn't address how he would do any better. McCain only mentioned Obama 5 times. Who's mud slinging?? McCain has proven with his own actions that he has integrity, he puts others before himself. Obama simply wants to make history for himself. Nothing he has said in the past, nothing he says now has me believing otherwise.

  • Everyone needs to read the FACTS, be aware of the LIES & MUD the Republicans are well known for. Obama/Biden are talking about how to fix the problems, McCain/Palin are comparing personalities. When you don't have anyting to say, you tear down a person. Terrible. Do you really want this? Not me. I will vote for Obama, someone who will bring about the improvements we need. The alternative is 4 more horrible years.
