I largely agree with this editorial, EXCEPT many voted against Prop A/ gang "parcel tax" because it's unfair to keep taxing only homeowners for police protection (the trash fees hiked to $500/year already) and now for gang programs, when homeowners are getting less police protection while gangs prevail in tenements that wouldn't pay for this tax, either. Home equity is way down, many owners are NOT rich and struggling, younger people can't afford to buy a house at all. Taxing homeowners is the LAZY and unfair way to "raise" money. Cut waste in government, union salary hikes and pensions.
