It's always election season in Los Angeles. On November 4, voters go to the polls for the historic presidential election, plus perhaps a dozen state ballot measures, including an initiative to forbid same-sex marriage. There are also important judicial and county runoffs. On March 3, 2009, it's the first round for the mayor and other city officials — followed closely by the final round, on May 19.
