VOTE-O-RAMA

Proposition 11

Redistricting Constitutional Amendment and Statute. Would transfer the power to re-draw Assembly, state Senate, and Board of Equalization district lines, once every 10 years after census data come in, from the political parties and elected officials to a 14-member citizens' commission.

Los Angeles Times editorial, Sept. 12, 2008: Yes on Proposition 11

" But the question for voters is not whether this measure would do everything its supporters want, or whether it is the best possible redistricting reform. The question is whether Proposition 11 would give California a system better than the status quo. It would."

Doyle McManus: On his overseas trip, the president was met with a lot less cheering and a lot more tough talk.
