1. Immune activation could explain productive infections of HIV and this may be caused by the "adjuvant effect". At the origins of the epidemic this may have been caused by the use of multiple vaccines, in the progression of the infection to the AIDS, it may be caused by other infections and vaccination itself could simulate this effect.
