Where to give for Myanmar relief
1.
World Help provides much need assistance in many countries around the world, including Burma, in areas such as humanitarian aid and child sponsorship. Since the cyclone, World Help has been sending financial resources to their partners in Burma to assist with relief efforts, and is trying to send physical resources to the extent permitted by the Burmese government. Donations can be made through their website at:

2. www.foundationburma.org is accepting donations to help support the relief effort
3. IDE Myanmar http://www.ideorg.org/work/myanmar.php has been providing technical help to Burmese farmers for many years. They have over 300 staff on the ground in Myanmar and most importantly, they have permission from the government to travel and work with villagers throughout the country. They have vital access to affected areas and coordinate their work with larger organizations such as UNICEF, CARE and Save the Children. You can make donations through their website at https://secure.groundspring.org/dn/index.php?aid=3264.
4. A big "thank you" to the Times for NOT recommending that disaster of a disaster-relief agency, the American Red Cross. As history has shown again and again, monetary donations to the Red Cross go everywhere but to the intended recipients. Kudos to the Times for its effort to recommend nonprofits that are much better suited for disaster relief in Myanmar. Keep up the good work.
