If Schwarzenegger wishes to veto the budget, no one should be paid until a budget is approved. That includes state workers, prison guards, healthcare workers, welfare receipients, ALL or nothing. It's unfair to single out selected groups for non-payment. The nation is in a crisis and we stick our heads in the ground. Are these the best people in this state to run our government?

You can't have a real budget with the republicans in this state. They can't come up with a plan for cutting revenue and they don't want to pay taxes. All they want to do is borrow money from somewhere. Deficits follow republicans like flies on manure.

Yes. I completely support our governor.

yes

Did the Schwarzenegger tell you all what to say during your private meeting with him?

Can somebody tell me - does this mean we're not getting a Renter's Credit refund?

I think part of this is because of term limits. It is not so much that the legislature is inexperienced, but that they know they won't be in office here very long, so why not kick problems into the future? It's not like they will have to deal with them later - no, that will be someone else's job.

I'm glad the governor is vetoing this proposed budget. My kids could put together a more realistic budget than our Legislators. This is nothing more than borrowing. And I can't believe they want to increase our withholding tax just so they can use the money earlier in order to avoid true budget reforms. Rest assured: I will be decreasing my withholding amount long before this budget ever takes effect. Everyone should do so.

All I know is that people (like myself) are suffering from government programs that aren't getting funded. People who depend on these programs are already in a position of suffering, and this multiplies it greatly. I am almost ready to give up. I don't understand what these guys are doing and why can't they come to a compromise to benefit the people who put them in office.

Oh, I see. If no far right, then no more budgetary problems.
