At least trans fats can be eliminated easily with other oils thus causing less damage. Since heart disease is the number one killer in our county this small transformation helps in the long run. We started using rice oil 3 years ago instead of PH soybean oil. The food tastes better and our customers are getting better quality food.

When you ban something, you have to enforce that ban somehow. Usually the people who enforce bans on substances carry guns. I prefer the option where there are no guns involved. That is, let's educate consumers about trans fats and let consumers make their own choices like adults. We are not children and the police are not our parents.

High fructose corn syrup should right in line behind trans fats to be removed from our food.

The govenment has no control over how people live. It would be a good idea to ban trans fats. Even if you ban trans fats, fat people will just eat alot of health food and still be over weight. The lesson should be to educate people how to lose weight or else you will be lonely and made fun of. Just like we educate children that if you do bad you will go to jail, the same should be for overweight people to, If you become overweight than you will be made fun of, simple as that.
