As a Russian I can say with assurance that the author knows nothing about nowdays Russia and with the same success could write about Martians. These "three ways" fit much more USA than Russia. USA looks more and more like a reincarnation of past USSR.

The missiles that will be used in Poland can carry nuclear warheads. Polish people wont control this base all the time. USA will say - we have only kinetic anti-missile heads will you believe? The first lunch: because of the very short flying time to the Russian borders, every lunch from the Poland will be intercepted in automatic regime. No time to analyze is it flying to Iran or to Sochi, and it is not possible with help of radar to distinguish kinetic head from nuke. Respond will be also in automatic way - 95% for WW3, and the end of the humans, and 99% for end of the Poland You want us to support you in this reckless scheme?

Georgia progress - lol, from 4.5bil people living in Georgia in 90x, now live only 2.5bil - it's progress :)

We do not understand Russia at all. We did not understand Russia under communism. We associated Soviet Power with Russian national identity. Ethnic Russians suffered under communism as much as anyone in the old Soviet Union, why would they want to return to a regime like that. The boundaries of Soviet Republics were set up hapharzardly by Lenin ignoring history and culture. Remember Negorno Karabakh, the Armenian enclave in Azerbajian.? Nato should not be extended. It will be a tripwire of conflict. The Georgian president has already acted wrecklously after we supplied advance training to his troops. The Ukranin is also a danger point.

Paul: Russia acted like a bully and got spanked. They can pout all they like, they still look stupid. But I do have to thank Putin for helping me decide who I want to vote for: if he hates Repubs, they've got my vote. Obviously he thinks Dems will be pushovers -not what I want making decisions for MY welfare.

the georgian prsident is not a saint... and hes not very smart either. the russian president is just doing what all world powers do invading a country using the excuse of liberating it. have we forgotten iraq? afganistan? bosnia? kosovo? none of these people said hey NATo come invade us. this is the difference in the situation in georgia today, abkhazians and ossetians asked russia to intervene. because they obviously dont agree with there countries system. can anyone say that is wrong?
